Have you ever bought a bunch of cilantro or parsley, thrown it in your produce drawer in your refrigerator and found it….sad and wilted…a few days later?
Sorry guacamole, you ain’t getting no cilantro.
I wasted SO many fresh herbs before I figured out the best way to store them.
And that is: in a mason jar/cup/small vase with water. Yes, like fresh flowers.
Next time you head to the store for fresh herbs, rinse them off, shake off the excess water and stick them (stem side down) in a glass jar with water. This will keep them fresh and hydrated.
I like to keep them on my kitchen counter to bring some green and liveliness to my countertops 🙂
It’s a two-for: fresh herbs AND decoration.
